Google Real Time search update with Maile Ohye, Google, at SES New York 2010

Maile Ohye, Google, discusses the advent of Googles real time search. Google debuted real-time search back in December of 2009. Maile says Google is interested in delivering content to users that is relevant and in real time from a variety of sources. Its not just about microblogs or news information but finding content from anyone who wants to be a publisher and pushing it out in real time for users. Maile then lists the various sources that Google gets its real time content. This includes Twitter, Google news, Facebook MySpace, and Google Buzz. Maile says as Google opens up delivery of real time content, it will ensure that the quality and relevancy is there to satisfy users. Maile mentions that Google is capable of indexing its content in less than a minute. To constantly keep improving upon the content delivered, Google also uses various metrics called happiness metrics in order to determine if the real-time results were found to be helpful by users. Has anybody got any ideas about this?

www.free-press-release.com DK is a Street Performer but he can’t compete with these Ninja SEO ranking skills. How can I quickly generate a business directory listing that is easy to manage and update?

We need to produce business directory listings for a business and community information resource site. What would be the fastest, most reliable method of collection for this information? We plan to expand into a wide variety of areas -cities, counties, regions, etc.- and require the ability to collect, update and manage the information quickly, on a regular basis. Our users, both novice and experienced internet users, would basically be using us as a “Business and Community Portal” for city and regional information. Thank You.
It’s aimed to be a local “city centric” portal not just for business directories, but for news, information, and community cooperation. We hope to incorporate a social networking aspect -by connecting to current relevant social networking sites- and provide local advertising, articles, tourism information, and community forums.
We plan to list local resources (museums, parks, government, etc.) and companies as a free service, in a basic directory. However, as a business model, to generate sales and revenue, the businesses and organizations can then purchase premium profile listings that will feature thier logo/trademark, expanded information (incl. website link), a brief description of thier services, as well as social media links, etc. We will aslo sell digital media advertising in the form of banner ads, featured ads, article links, and partner pages.
We are constantly looking into new ideas and exhisting methods and uses to intergrate into our sites. We welcome community and client feedback for features they would like to see available on such a portal. We realize there are similar sites (mostly managed by larger corp. conglomerates), but few that are attempting to make these sites specifically more localized with pertinant information for the location they represent.
